The conference was due to be held this year (2021), but the host who was awarded the conference is no longer able to host it.

Late last year, a fresh expression of interest was released inviting Local Governments and regional bodies, including partnerships or consortia, to host the next conference. The expression of interest was managed by a committee made up of representatives from the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, the Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, and WALGA.

Three expressions of interest were received, and the successful bid was from the City of Mandurah in partnership with the Shires of Murray and Waroona. The proposed date for the conference is September 2022, and it is expected that over 200 people will attend in person.

Congratulations to these three Local Governments who were successful in the bid and thank you to those who submitted interest in hosting.

We look forward to an interesting and innovative event, may the planning begin!
