WALGA is hosting a workshop on Prioritisation of Natural Areas for Management.
Please join us to hear about effective bushland management practices, and explore opportunities for improved project planning and monitoring of natural areas in Local Government.

Expert speakers include representatives from the City of Stirling, City of Gosnells, Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions, South Coast NRM, CSIRO and WALGA.

The program will cover:
  •  the process of prioritising Local Government reserves for management and investment of funds
  •
 
insights into the benefits of collaboration and information sharing across government, community groups and private landholders for more efficient natural resource management
  •
 
an overview of dieback management (Phytophthora sp.) in natural areas using standardised protocols for data collection and mapping
  •
 
an innovative approach to measure the ecological and economic effectiveness of restoration actions and demonstrate value for investment
  •  benefits and limitations of the Natural Area Initial Assessment (NAIA) process; and
  •
 
new content and capabilities of WALGA's Environmental Planning Tool to assist with natural area management.

A workshop session will be held as part of the day, to explore opportunities for improved reserve management planning and monitoring, and inform further assistance that WALGA can provide.

Local Government Officers. Registrations from NRM Groups including community volunteers will be placed on a waiting list and accepted subject to place availability.
