03 Sep

Description

The Premier Hon. Mark McGowan MLA and WALGA Deputy President, Mayor Tracey Roberts will jointly launch WALGA’s review of the State Government’s WA Plan for Jobs.

This review aims to inform Local Governments on how the Plan for Jobs impacts on local areas and identifies opportunities to engage with programs and projects.

Background
Local economic development has been a growing focus for Local Governments in recent years, as communities have been affected by the downturn in the WA economy.

The report has been prepared by WALGA to inform Local Government about the impact of the Plan for Jobs on local areas and outline ways the sector can engage with the associated programs and projects.

The Report forms part of a broader project that WALGA is undertaking to support Local Governments in the implementation of their economic development strategies and activities.
