Hosted by WALGA this event will include presentations by the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) on the practical applications of the new referrals process and the regulatory requirements for native vegetation clearing, covering the following:
 
  • Guideline: Native vegetation referral – guidance on types of clearing that will not require a clearing permit and are not exempt
  • the new combined native vegetation clearing referral and permit application form released as part of updates to the native vegetation clearing regulations process
  • information that is required to support referrals and clearing permit applications
  • benefits of strategic clearing permits; and
  • will be an opportunity to discuss queries on other aspects of the Environmental Protection Act  amendments related to native vegetation clearing.
Presentations will be followed by Q&A and a workshop session where participants will be able to explore the new provisions using fictitious case studies.
