WALGA and the Local Government Community Safety Network Working Group will host an event focused on the topic of family and domestic violence on Tuesday, 18 May.

Family and domestic violence is a complex and concerning issue with significant long-term impacts for victims. More recently there has been growing interest from Local Governments and particular concern regarding the impact from COVID-19.

Presentations will include:
  • Department of Communities on the State Strategy ‘Path to Safety: Western Australia’s Strategy to Reduce Family and Domestic Violence 2020 – 2030’.
  • Women’s Centre for Safety and Wellbeing
  • Stopping Family Violence; and
  • City of Mandurah Local Government Case Study.

Regional Local Governments will be able to join via webinar.
