WALGA and DLGC are working in partnership to provide high level training opportunities for Country Local Government members.

Using WALGA’s 52756WA Diploma of Local Government (Elected Member) as its framework, a 4 day program is currently being delivered in regional locations across Western Australia.
 

Phase 1 was completed in 2013/14 via a pilot program delivered to the Mid-West and South-West regions of WA.

Phase 2 was completed in 2014/15 and was delivered to 8 Zones with a total of 308 Elected Members attending the training opportunities offered by WALGA and DLGC.


Phase 3 was completed in 2015/16 and was delivered to 8 Zones with a total of 430 attendances.
 

Final Phase dates for 2016/17 have now been scheduled and are currently being delivered in 23 regional locations across Western Australia.

  • Infrastrucutre Asset Management
  • Planning Practices - Advanced
  • CEO Performance Appraisals
  • Effective Community Leadership
  • Understanding Strategic Policy.
