Interpretation of the Local Government Industry Award 2010 has been designed to provide an understanding, and assistance in the interpretation of employee entitlements and conditions contained within the Local Government Industry Award 2010.

Payroll Officers and Human Resources Officers.

Learning Outcomes

As a result of completing this program, participants should be able to understand:

  • how to interpret and calculate pay and entitlements contained within the Local Government Industry Award 2010;
  • how the National Employment Standards, Fair Work Act 2009 and other legislation interact with Local Government Industry Award 2010;
  • the position classification structure; and
  • how employee entitlements to annual leave, personal/carer’s leave, long service leave, parental leave, compassionate leave, community service leave and public holidays are calculated.
