Strategy and Risk Management

Training
Strategy and Risk Management

Overview

Strategy and Risk Management uses existing legislation as its basis to explore the way in which Local Governments are required to plan for the future. Legislation establishes links between planning objectives, funding and reporting.

Many Local Governments adopt processes for their long term planning that go beyond the requirements of legislation. Links are explored between land use planning, policy development and major strategy documents such as asset management and infrastructure plans.

Topics covered within the course include putting strategic planning in perspective, the integrated planning and reporting framework, the analysis and consultation process, and formulation and implementation of a strategic plan.
