Service Offering 

WALGA, in conjunction with the NPN (National Procurement Network), have combined the purchasing power of over 400 Local Governments (WA, QLD, NSW, VIC, SA, NT, TAS) to establish this Preferred Supply Contract directly with Truck manufacturers to leverage superior national pricing and extensive supplier choice. 

The contracting of manufacturers directly has ensured that all regional dealerships in Western Australia are captured, allowing Local Governments to support their local truck dealer. 

Suppliers have been appointed to either single or multiple Truck categories.

 

DAF

DAF is a global organisation with over 80 years of experience in vehicle engineering and manufacturing. The Australian trucking landscape is one of the most demanding in the world, therefore DAF trucks are extensively tested in Australian conditions. The Australian range of DAF trucks includes the LF, CF and XF series which have been designed to accommodate a multitude of applications. From the comfortable, quiet cab and advanced safety features to its sleek good looks, DAF trucks are designed with the professional truck driver in mind.

 

Dennis Eagle

Dennis Eagle is one of the oldest producers of refuse collection vehicles in the world. It is the UK’s market leader in refuse collection vehicles and is rapidly growing a customer base in Europe, Scandinavia and other parts of the world.

In 2009, Western Star Trucks Australia initiated a development project with Dennis Eagle to bring the Elite 2 chassis to Australia. This project involved a global engineering effort. The project team focused on integrating leading edge European and North American technology with the proven advantages of the Dennis Eagle chassis and tailored the final product specifically to meet the demands of the Australian market.

AV Trucks (established 1984) is a wholly owned and independently run Western Australian family business and the State distributors for the Western Star, MAN & Dennis Eagle trucks. They can supply trucks from 8 ton carrying capacity upwards and specialises in refuse compactors with the Dennis Eagle range of low entry cab chassis trucks.

 

Freightliner 

Freightliner is the number one heavy truck in the United States, the biggest truck market in the World. Freightliner’s market leadership has come from offering the best of American and European technology, developed using the most advanced computer-aided design systems and safety programs in the World. Freightliner is a key unit in Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific’s commercial vehicle activities. Freightliner was acquired by Daimler-Benz in 1981 and entered the Australian market in 1989 with trucks specifically engineered and tailored to Australian conditions. In Australia, Freightliner trucks have been developed for heavier, bigger, faster and hotter operating environments and offer the engines, gearboxes, axles and suspension systems trusted by Australian operators.

 

FUSO 

Fuso trucks and buses are manufactured in Japan by Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC). Fuso is distributed in Australia by Mercedes-Benz Australia/Pacific Pty Ltd. Their products have been sold and supported in Australia for approximately 40 years by a dedicated and professional national dealer network. Hino 

Hino Motor Sales Australia (HMSA) is the importer, distributor and marketer of Hino trucks and buses and is supported by a national network of 42 Dealerships and 8 Parts and Service only Dealers. HMSA backs the dealer network with technical advice, technical training, parts storage, parts distribution and warranty. With over 120 models, Hino offer trucks from light duty 2 tonners through to prime movers. The light duty 300 Series are available with GVM’s from 4,495 kg to 8,500 kg. The medium duty 500 Series range from 8,000 kg to 26,000 kg and the heavy duty 700 Series up to 72,000 kg GVM. Hino is a Toyota Group Company and like Toyota, is renowned for vehicle quality, durability and reliability.

 

ISUZU 

Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Isuzu Motors Limited (Japan), responsible for the marketing, distribution and support of Isuzu trucks in Australia.

Isuzu Trucks have been Australian truck market sales leaders for 24 consecutive years from 1989-2013, and today approximately one in every four new trucks sold in Australia carries the Isuzu badge.

IVECO 

IVECO Trucks Australia designs, manufactures and markets a broad range of light, medium and heavy duty commercial vehicles to suit all transport needs. Iveco’s 60 year commitment to the local truck and bus industry since 1952 under the International Harvester brand name has produced more than 230,000 truck and bus chassis Australia wide.

The VGA footprint within Australia allows for manufacturing, assembly, customisation and upgrades to be done in-country which ensures Australian Industry Capability, reduced risk and the ability to meet Local Government project requirements and adaptations. In addition to normal haulage, construction and freight requirements, they offer specialised vehicles for fuel, gas, water, waste, fire and mining, all supported through one of Australia’s largest dealer maintenance network. MAN 

MAN Auto Imports are the sole Australian importer of the MAN range of trucks and buses. They offer high specification premium vehicles with extensive warranty and R&M packages, supplied through a network of sales and service dealers throughout Australia. 

The MAN product range covers off-road all-wheel drive trucks in 4x4, 6x6 and 8x8 configuration, plus a range of on-highway chassis from 12T GVM up to 90T GCM in both rigid and prime-movers. 

MAN also supply their dealer network with the full range of MAN genuine parts, plus service and technical training support.

AV Truck Services is the sole Australian importer and distributor of Western Star, MAN and Dennis Eagle Trucks. They provide for rigid & prime mover applications chassis with GVM from 16t GVM to GCM 155T. Pricing

All Preferred Suppliers under this Panel are legally required to provide their best prices and conditions of supply to Local Governments purchasing through the WALGA Preferred Supply Panel. 

This arrangement will provide a broad range of benefits to Members, including significant discounts on prices (up to 30% off market rates), procurement advantages and increased flexibility by offering an extensive equipment range, brand representation and pricing alternatives. 

The unique pricing structure of this Preferred Supplier Panel enables the use of a direct quotation system. 

Members can seek a quotation on Trucks and/or Associated Equipment from one supplier or alternatively request multiple quotations from a number of suppliers. 

The competitiveness of this arrangement will deliver optimal pricing outcomes for Members. It is recommended that eQuotes be used for the quotation process.

 

Conditions of Contract

National Procurement Network General Conditions of Contract support this National Local Government arrangement. These are available on request. Members must reference the WALGA Contract and related Member Conditions in all communications with Preferred Suppliers.
