WALGA has established a Contract for external review and claims services for Local Government diesel fuel tax rebates. Under the program, qualified and experienced consultants will prepare and lodge applications for rebates and subsidies available through Commonwealth and State based programs.
A review of a Local Government’s claims history will assess previous claim rebates and/or subsidies to check whether eligible entitlements have been either under claimed or not claimed at all. To minimise disruption to regular business, AIT Specialists can work directly with bulk fuel suppliers to obtain evidence of consumption without needing to access Local Government business systems. An audit trail and full set of paperwork is provided with claims forms to support a rebate application. AIT Specialists also work with each Local Government to deliver the independent capability to lodge future claims with awareness of full eligibility requirements.

This diesel rebate review program is offered under an aggregated sector program, which allows the knowledge and expertise developed through claims exercises to be shared across Local Government. Technical knowledge and rebate activity that is specific to Western Australia is included within this program, as is the representation and advocacy undertaken to secure full eligibility and clarify interpretive matters.
