  •  information for going carbon neutral;
  •  international activities;
  •  renewable energy; and
  •  climate change publications and resources.

ARENA works to accelerate Australia’s shift to an affordable and reliable renewable energy future, by providing funding to researchers, developers and businesses that have demonstrated the feasibility and potential commercialisation of a renewable energy project. ARENA also builds and supports networks, and shares the knowledge, insights and data from ARENA funded projects to assist collective learning.

The Western Australian Planning Commission responds to the strategic direction of Government and is responsible for the strategic planning of the State.

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability (ICLEI) is an international, not-for-profit association of Local Governments and Local Government organisations that have made a commitment to sustainable development. The ICLEI mission is to build a movement of Local Governments to achieve tangible improvements in environmental conditions through the cumulative impact of local action. ICLEI provides publications.that contain discussion papers such as, Action for a Low Carbon Future and a Climate Change Adaptation Kit, plus other useful resources, such as: news, networking opportunities, information on member initiatives, training, and consultation.

The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) is an international environmental treaty negotiated at the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), informally known as the Earth Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro in1992. The objective of the UNFCCC is to “stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system”. The UNFCCC sets out a framework and a process for agreeing to specific actions over time, and sets up a process through which governments meet regularly to discuss climate change action

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) is the international body for assessing the science related to climate change. The IPCC was set up in 1988 by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) to provide policymakers with regular assessments of the scientific basis of climate change, its impacts and future risks, and options for adaptation and mitigation. IPCC assessments provide a scientific basis for Governments at all levels to develop climaterelated policies, and they underlie negotiations at the UN Climate Conference – the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

The Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) is Australia's national science agency and one of the largest and most diverse research agencies in the world. CSIRO provides extensive research on environment- "From oceans and coasts, landscapes and inland waters, to our atmosphere and climate, CSIRO research is helping to maintain the integrity of our environments and ensure our natural resources are used sustainably." CSIRO's environment research can be found here.

The 202020 Vision is a large collaboration that aims to achieve a 20% increase in urban canopy cover in Australian urban areas by the year 2020. 202020 Vision provides toolkits; plans; information how to overcome barriers, case study projects, access to networks, a help hub, and news.

The Peron-Naturaliste Partnership (PNP) is an incorporated collective group of nine Local Governments between Cape Peron and Cape Naturaliste in the southwest of Western Australia – Bunbury, Busselton, Capel, Dardanup, Harvey, Mandurah, Murray, Rockingham, Waroona. The PNP aims to empower these Regional Local Governments to facilitate timely adaptation responses and resilience to the coastal effects of climate change. The PNP works to achieve this objective through advocacy; facilitating data and information access; adopting a regional approach to grant applications and other submissions; sharing knowledge; and collaborating over risk management.

The Cooperative Research Centre for Water Sensitive Cities, provides water saving information for Local Government areas affected by climate change.

The Bureau of Meteorology is Australia's national weather, climate and water agency. Its expertise and services assist Australians in dealing with the harsh realities of their natural environment, including drought, floods, fires, storms, tsunami and tropical cyclones. Through regular forecasts, warnings, monitoring and advice spanning the Australian region and Antarctic territory, the Bureau provides one of the most fundamental and widely used services of Government. The Bureau provids observational, meteorological, hydrological and oceanographic services and undertakes research into science and environment related issues.
