Our operational structure is comprised of a number of internal business units who undertake policy and advocacy work on behalf of the Local Government sector.
Our Policy, Advice and Advocacy areas include the following:
State Election Strategy – Better Government, Stronger Communities
In the lead up to the 2017 State Election, WALGA will be seeking commitment from political parties to meet a number of policy imperatives outlined by Members, including:
- securing a new State Road Funds to Local Government Agreement;
- opposing the introduction of rate capping;
- establishing a meaningful Partnership Agreement with government;
- and a commitment to extending poll provisions to give communities a say on any amalgamations.
