Human Resources Forum

Human Resources Forum
30 Nov
30 Nov

You are invited to attend the very first WALGA/LGIS joint Human Resource Forum.
The aim of these forums is to facilitate discussions on HR, ER and OHS matters with a specific focus on topics that are of relevance to the Local Government sector or particular regions.
The forums will primarily be delivered for HR professionals but any frontline supervisors or managers in your Local Government will also benefit greatly from the topical issues discussed at the forum.
We intend to run presentations and workshops on important emerging issues and topics but we will also be encouraging Local Government representatives who are interested in attending to suggest topics that you would like us to cover in future forums.
The theme for the first joint HR Forum is “Are you prepared for the silly season!?” with the following topics being discussed:
  • A short presentation on annual leave and time off instead of overtime payment changes in the Local Government Industry Award 2010 presented by Kate Moore (WALGA).
  • An interactive workshop on outside of work conduct particularly relating to social media facilitated by Carla Loney (WALGA) and Barry Chaplin (LGIS).
  • An interactive workshop on how to approach end of year functions and Christmas parties facilitated by Kate Post (WALGA) and Lynn Cliff (LGIS).
A list of dates and locations for future WALGA/LGIS joint Human Resources Forums will be sent out inviting Local Governments to register their interest. We intend to have both metropolitan and regional WALGA/LGIS joint Human Resources Forums.
