WALGA and the Chamber of Culture and Arts WA are pleased to host a professional development forum on cultural planning and measuring outcomes. The purpose of this seminar is to introduce the National Cultural Development Forum’s Cultural Planning Framework and its connection to strategic planning.

Delegates will hear from John Smithies, Director of the Cultural Development Network and June Moorhouse, General Manager of CAN on the Framework for Cultural Development Planning and the framework's connection to strategic planning and measuring outcomes of cultural activity.

International artist Akirash will also share his experiences and the benefits the place-making and arts activities as the Artist in Residence with the Shire of East Pilbara. Born and raised in Nigeria, Akirash’s flamboyant and multidisciplinary art style, described as intellectual, energetic and passionate has made the artist hugely popular. Akirash has established an international reputation for his diversity of mediums and social commentary. He has worked with a wide range of communities, completed residencies and exhibited in Namibia, the USA, Brazil, Tanzania, Myanmar and the United Kingdom.
