Building Act Review - Workshops

Building Act Review - Workshops
27 Sep
06 Oct

Description

In 2012, the Building Act 2011 (the Act) came into force and the Building Commission have advised that it will be commencing a review of the Act in 2017.

It is important for the Local Government sector to be proactive in informing this review, therefore, a series of workshops will be held to inform the preparation of a position paper which will outline the sector’s recommended changes to the Act.

These workshops are for Local Government Building Surveyors only. They will be facilitated by Claire Lings of ‘Sound Certification’.

Claire Lings has 20 years experience as a Local Government Building Surveyor working in large and small organisations both in the country and city.

She has spent time at the City of Melville, Shire of Broome and Town of Claremont and now runs her own Building Surveying consultancy – Sound Certification.

Feedback from the Local Government sector is vitally important to help identify the key issues that the Association should advocate for, in order to improve the operation of the Building Act.
