The Association carried out an organisational restructure in early 2007. One of the outcomes of the restructure was the establishment of the Planning & Community Development Policy Team. The team also incorporates the Emergency Management Services and WALGA ICT Online Services.
The Planning & Community Development Policy Team provides advice and assistance on government policy and legislation that impacts Local Government functions including Arts & Culture; Building; Community Development; Community Safety & Crime Prevention; Disability Services; Emergency Management; Environmental & Public Health; Heritage; Housing; Information Communication Technologies; Land-use Planning; Sport & Recreation; Tourism; and Urban Development.
The team produces a fortnightly Planning & Community Development Newsletter which provides local governments with the latest news updates, funding opportunities and opportunities for consultation.
